Charlotte “Charli” Sanders, LPC-MHSP (Associate)
Charli Sanders is an associate licensed professional counselor at Christian Counseling Center of Bartlett, where she practices under the supervision of Landon Self. She earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, from Oral Roberts University’s Graduate School of Theology and Ministry. She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC).
Charli is especially drawn to working with adults and families who have experienced trauma, as well as people navigating grief, loss, and life transitions. Some people come to counseling feeling as though they have been in survival mode for a long time. They may notice its effects in their bodies, their thoughts, or their ability to feel connected to themselves and others. Others are trying to make sense of a difficult season, a strained relationship, or questions about faith and purpose. Charli believes those experiences deserve time and careful attention.
In counseling, Charli listens with empathy and curiosity. She wants clients to have room to tell their stories without feeling rushed, while also helping them stay connected to what brought them to counseling. Her approach is integrative, drawing from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and motivational interviewing according to each client’s needs and goals. She is interested in whole-person care and in the ways our thoughts, bodies, relationships, and spiritual lives affect one another. She also values play and creative expression as tools for reflection. We do not always have words for what we have experienced. Creative work can give someone a place to begin, and conversation and understanding may follow. When appropriate, spiritual disciplines can offer another way to reflect and make meaning.
Charli’s Christian faith informs how she approaches her work, including her belief in the dignity of every person. She seeks to be thoughtful about how faith enters counseling, welcoming explicit conversation about God, Scripture, and spiritual formation when it fits the client’s goals. She also welcomes honest questions and difficult experiences with faith.
Her belief in whole-person care has been shaped by her own life and the people and places she calls home. She and her husband are raising their family in Atoka, Tennessee, and are involved in their church in Covington. When she is not counseling or spending time with family, she is often outside with horses, teaching lessons and finding ways to share that experience with others. She has a particular heart for rural communities and understands that finding care close to home can come with its own challenges.
Charli accepts Cigna and Aetna insurance and our church contracts. Her private pay rate is $90 per session. You may contact her at Charli@BartlettChristianCounseling.com or call at 901-206-3228.
